Music? Not so fast. Big corporate media publishers are trying to stop Mr. and Mrs. Smith from doing with legally purchased music whatever their hearts desire. Backing-up CD's, MP3-ing songs to dump them on your brand new iPod or simply saving away the individual track to make yourself a nice compilation, is and will become more and more of an issue. It's a fact, like it or not: Digital Rights Management (DRM) is here to stay. Some like it, some don't.

It is often difficult to define beauty. Granted, one could analyze the three most popular adjectives used when describing a beautiful person, this measure could even bear some meaningfulness when studied over a large enough sample population, stratifying it into age, economic and even (especially?) ethnic groups. But what would such number-crunching-nonsense give us? A set of words, coupled with some percentages: the cold, harsh, mathematical truth? *** On another note, who said that mannequins are dolls with a timeless, frozen beauty? Have you noticed how they become old? How they seem dated, how their mirror reflection on the view of human body -and beauty- changes over the decades? And especially, how they become yellow after sunbathing on the window of a retail shop day after day? |
